I'm Edward Thornton
Game Arts & Design Student
ABOUT
ABOUT ME
My name is Edward and I enjoy drawing and playing games in my spare time.
I'm a second year Game Arts & Design student at Plymouth University and am looking for a placement for 2019/20.
In my course, I am learning how to use Unity, 3DS Max, C# and more.
WHAT I'VE DONE
In college, my final project was to create a game in a group of three. This was my first time attempting any kind of game design and since then I believe that I have improved.
My most unusual project was one where I set the scene in a dream-state land, and I deprived myself of sleep whilst designing it to add another level to the meaning behind the game.
Examples of my projects, art and designs are listed below.
WHAT I DO
Currently I am studying more advanced coding and how to apply it in ways to effectively use code.
On top of this, I am working on my drawing abilities via an online drawing course and I am drawing in my spare time. I plan on using the skills I learn in future game projects.
PORTFOLIO
My Projects and Design Work
This project was my version of Space Invaders and was a project for my university course. This was my first project including C# work and I am proud of the progress I made. The next thing to do would be to review the code and make it more efficient.
This project was a university assignment where I was tasked to create all of the assets myself. On top of this, I decided to perform an experiment where I created everything whilst sleep deprived. The reasoning behind this was that I wanted the game to be heavily influenced by sleep and a dream state feeling. This adds to the overall feeling of the final product.
This is my sketchfab page link where I upload the models that I create. These models usually have the files available to download and use / test in your own projects.
